The FN America / FN Herstal Fn 545 Mrd 45 is a semi-auto in .45 ACP with a 4.1" barrel, a 1:16 twist and 10-round capacity plus one chambered.

This is a full-size handgun barrel length – more velocity and a longer sight radius than a compact, in exchange for size. It comes with co-witness height sights. The slide is cut for a red dot, so an optic mounts without machining. The optic and, on most models, a mounting plate are bought separately, and the plate has to match the footprint your optic uses.

The .45 ACP is commonly chosen for range use, competition and carry. A large, slow bullet with mild muzzle blast; magazines hold fewer rounds than a comparable 9mm.
