The blade is CPM S30V SS, an American powder-metallurgy stainless that offers excellent edge retention and toughness, at the cost of more effort to resharpen. Stainless scales are durable and easy to clean, though heavier than polymer.

Carry laws are set locally as well as by state, and a 3.4" blade is legal to carry in many places and not in others – check your state and city rules before you carry it.
