The Kimber Custom Or Comp X-Hunter is a single action in 10mm with a 5" barrel, a 1:16 twist and 8-round capacity plus one chambered.
This is a full-size handgun barrel length – more velocity and a longer sight radius than a compact, in exchange for size. It comes with fs: fiber optic sights. The slide is cut for a red dot, so an optic mounts without machining. The optic and, on most models, a mounting plate are bought separately, and the plate has to match the footprint your optic uses.
The 10mm is commonly chosen for hunting, the outdoors and range use. The most powerful common semi-auto handgun cartridge, which is why it is carried in bear country.

The Compensated X Hunter is Kimber's first production compensated 1911. The single stack pistol is designed to be the first in a limited group of dedicated 10mm hunting pistols for modern pistol hunters looking to carry afield or at the range. Chambered in 10mm and featuring a patent pending compensator and a toolless plunger which makes removal and cleaning easy.
