The Kimber Next Gen 1911 is a semi-auto in .45 ACP with a 5" barrel, a 1:16 twist and 7-round capacity.
This is a full-size handgun barrel length – more velocity and a longer sight radius than a compact, in exchange for size. It comes with red dot front sights. The slide is cut for a red dot, so an optic mounts without machining. The optic and, on most models, a mounting plate are bought separately, and the plate has to match the footprint your optic uses.
The .45 ACP is commonly chosen for range use, competition and carry. A large, slow bullet with mild muzzle blast; magazines hold fewer rounds than a comparable 9mm.
This is a serialized firearm. It ships to a licensed dealer near you rather than to your door, and you complete the transfer there with a Form 4473 and a background check. State and local rules govern what can be shipped where, so check yours before ordering – and if you are unsure, ask us first.
