The Lee Precision Quick Trim Die is a case trimmer.
Cases stretch each time they are fired, and a case that grows past its maximum length can pinch the case mouth into the throat when the rifle chambers it. Trimming brings it back to specification.
Trim length is published per cartridge, along with the maximum. Trimming is measured work, not judgement – it needs a way to check the length, and the mouth chamfered and deburred afterwards.
