Description
The MDT Hunt Brake is a muzzle device, 30CAL.
A muzzle device redirects the gas leaving the barrel. A brake pushes it sideways or backwards to counter recoil, a compensator directs it upward to counter muzzle rise, and a flash hider breaks up the visible flash.
Brakes are loud to either side of the shooter – that is the mechanism working, not a defect, and it is the trade for the recoil reduction.
The thread has to match the barrel exactly: 1/2×28 for most .223/5.56 and 9mm, 5/8×24 for most .30 calibre. Thread pitch and diameter both matter.
