The MEC 8958 Jig Fixture is a shotshell reloading tool.
This is shotshell reloading tooling. Shotshells load differently from metallic cartridges: the hull is resized and primed, then charged with powder and shot, a wad is seated between them, and the mouth is crimped closed.
Everything is gauge-specific, and hull type matters too – tooling and wads that suit one hull design will not necessarily suit another.
Work from published load data for the exact bullet, powder, primer and case you are using. Components that look interchangeable are not – swapping one for a similar one changes pressure, and that is where handloading goes wrong.
