The Midwest Industries MK2 Receiver Extension is a scope ring cap, 34mm.

A ring cap is the upper half of a scope ring – the piece that clamps down over the tube. They are sold as spares, and as a way to add or change an accessory rail on top of a ring.

Caps are matched to the ring they came from: diameter, screw pattern and the maker's own machining. A cap off a different ring will not clamp evenly, and uneven clamping is what dents a scope tube.

Torque the screws to the maker's figure with an inch-pound wrench, working across the cap in stages so it seats square.
