Description
The Mossberg Patriot Cerakote/Syn is a bolt action in 6.5 PRC with a 24" barrel, a 1:10 twist and 3-round capacity plus one chambered.
A long barrel gives the cartridge room to build velocity, at the cost of handling in tight spaces and some added weight. That is slower than the usual twist for this cartridge, so it favors lighter bullets; very heavy projectiles may not stabilize. It ships without iron sights, so budget for an optic, rings and a base if you do not already have them.
The 6.5 PRC is commonly chosen for long-range hunting. It pushes 6.5mm bullets faster than Creedmoor, trading barrel life and recoil for reach.
