Description
The Proof Research Elevation 2.0 is a bolt action in .308 / 7.62 NATO with a 20" barrel and a 1:10 twist.
This is a left-hand action: the bolt handle and ejection port are on the left side, laid out for a left-handed shooter. A right-handed shooter would be reaching over the receiver to work the bolt. This barrel length is a common compromise: enough to develop most of the cartridge's velocity while staying manageable to carry. That is the standard twist for this cartridge, and it stabilizes the bullet weights most factory ammunition is loaded with.
The .308 is commonly chosen for hunting, target shooting and general use. Probably the most versatile centerfire cartridge available – ammunition is everywhere, and it handles most North American game.
