Description

The Proof Research Elevation MTR is a bolt action rifle in .300 Winchester Magnum with a 22" barrel and a 1:10 twist.

This is a left-hand action: the bolt handle and ejection port are on the left side, laid out for a left-handed shooter. This barrel length is the usual compromise: enough to develop most of the cartridge's velocity while still being manageable to carry all day, and short enough that a suppressor on the end does not make it unwieldy. That is the standard twist for this cartridge, and it stabilizes the bullet weights most factory ammunition is loaded with.

The .300 Winchester Magnum is commonly chosen for elk, large game and long-range work. Significant energy at distance, and significant recoil with it.
