Description
The Fix is Q's bolt action, and it is not built like anyone else's. The receiver is one-piece aluminium, the bolt throw is ultra short, and caliber changes are a barrel swap rather than a trip to a gunsmith. Q describe the design philosophy as everything you need and nothing you don't.
For anyone coming to it from AR-15s rather than from bolt guns, the transition is deliberately short: the Fix uses standard AR ergonomics, takes a common AR safety selector and pistol grip, and puts the magazine release in the position an AR shooter already reaches for.
This one is the pistol configuration in 8.6 Blackout with an 8" barrel. 8.6 Blackout is a large-bore subsonic cartridge designed around suppressor use, and a barrel this short is intended for it – the powder charge is small and burns quickly, so little velocity is given up. No suppressor is included; a silencer is a separate NFA purchase with its own Form 4 and approval wait.
Configured as a pistol, it stays a pistol. Fitting an actual shoulder stock to a firearm with an 8" barrel makes it a short-barreled rifle – an NFA item that must be registered and approved before it is assembled. If you are unsure what you have, ask us first.
This is a serialized firearm. It ships to a licensed dealer near you rather than to your door, and you complete the transfer there with a Form 4473 and a background check. State and local rules govern what can be shipped where, so check yours before ordering – and if you are unsure, ask us first.
