The Radians Ballistic Amber Lens is shooting eyewear.
Shooting glasses exist to stop what comes back – ejected brass, fragments off steel targets, and unburnt powder. That is a different job from sunglasses, and it is why the impact rating matters more than the tint.
Check for an ANSI Z87.1 marking if impact rating matters to you – it is the standard that separates tested safety eyewear from ordinary sunglasses.
Lens tint changes what you see, not how protected you are. Clear suits indoor ranges and low light, smoke and grey cut bright sun, and amber or rust tints raise contrast against green and grey backgrounds.
