The Recover Innovations Rec Active Retention is a holster, left-hand.
Fitment is the thing to check. A holster is moulded or cut for a particular pistol, and one that is close but not right will not hold it securely – check it against your exact model, and against whether you carry a light or an optic on it.
Whatever the design, a holster has to cover the trigger guard completely and hold the pistol firmly enough that it stays put when you move. Those two things are what makes carrying safely possible, and they are worth checking on any holster before you trust it.
This is the left-hand version. Handedness is not adjustable – a holster moulded for one side cannot be worn on the other, so check which you are ordering.
It uses active retention: a lock or strap that has to be released deliberately before the pistol will come out. That is slower than friction alone and is the point – it resists the pistol being taken or shaken loose.
