The Red Rock Gear Rover Sling is a pack.
A pack carries the load. Capacity is quoted in litres or cubic inches, and the useful figure is how the volume is divided rather than the total.
For anything carried far, the suspension matters more than the volume: a proper hip belt puts the weight on the hips rather than the shoulders, and a frame keeps the load close to the back. A day pack does none of that and does not need to.
MOLLE webbing takes modular pouches, so the same pack can be configured differently for different jobs.
