The Ruger / Sturm, Ruger & Co. SR1911 is a semi-auto in 9mm with a 4.25" barrel and 9-round capacity plus one chambered.
This is a full-size handgun barrel length – more velocity and a longer sight radius than a compact, in exchange for size. It comes with 3 dot sights.
The 9mm is commonly chosen for range practice, competition and carry. The most widely available centerfire handgun round, which keeps practice affordable and ammunition easy to find.
