The Savage 1911 is a semi-auto in 9mm with a 5" barrel, a 1:10 twist and 10-round capacity.

This is a full-size handgun barrel length – more velocity and a longer sight radius than a compact, in exchange for size. It comes with night sights.

The 9mm is commonly chosen for range practice, competition and carry. The most widely available centerfire handgun round, which keeps practice affordable and ammunition easy to find.
