Description
The Savage Axis is a bolt action rifle in .25-06 Remington with a 20" barrel and 4-round capacity plus one chambered.
This barrel length is the usual compromise: enough to develop most of the cartridge's velocity while still being manageable to carry all day, and short enough that a suppressor on the end does not make it unwieldy.
A bolt action locks the cartridge up rigidly and repeatably, which is what makes it the accurate choice for hunting and target work – there is no gas system or reciprocating carrier moving while the shot breaks.
The AXIS XP is loaded with features that deliver tack-driving accuracy on every shot, including precision button rifled barrels, and thread-in headspacing. The updated bolt handle with a sleek, ergonomic design delivers on functionality. This bolt handle will help to enhance user control and comfort during operation, especially in adverse conditions like rain or cold weather. Comes with a factory-mounted and boresighted 3-9×40 scope.
