Description
The Savage Axis Compact is a bolt action rifle in 7mm-08 REMINGTON with a 20" barrel and 4-round capacity plus one chambered.
This barrel length is the usual compromise: enough to develop most of the cartridge's velocity while still being manageable to carry all day, and short enough that a suppressor on the end does not make it unwieldy.
The 7mm-08 REMINGTON is commonly chosen for deer-sized game. Mild recoil for its capability, which is why it is often recommended to new hunters.
The AXIS XP is loaded with features that deliver tack-driving accuracy on every shot, including precision button rifled barrels, and thread-in headspacing. Look for the AXIS XP in a wide variety of full-size, left-hand, and compact models and a complete spectrum of popular hunting calibers. The updated bolt handle with a sleek, ergonomic design delivers on functionality. This bolt handle will help to enhance user control and comfort during operation, especially in adverse conditions like rain or cold weather. Comes with a factory-mounted and boresighted 3-9×40 scope.
