Savage Arms 32182 Axis 2 XP Combo Full Size 223 Rem 4+1 22″ Black Sporter Barrel, Black Carbon Steel Receiver Drilled & Tapped, OD Green Fixed Synthetic Stock, Weaver 3-9x40mm Scope, Left Hand

Description

The Savage Arms Axis 2 is a bolt action rifle in .223 REM/5.56 NATO with a 22" barrel, a 1:9 twist and 4-round capacity plus one chambered.

This is a left-hand action: the bolt handle and ejection port are on the left side, laid out for a left-handed shooter. This barrel length is the usual compromise: enough to develop most of the cartridge's velocity while still being manageable to carry all day, and short enough that a suppressor on the end does not make it unwieldy. That is slower than the usual twist for this cartridge, so it favors lighter bullets; very heavy projectiles may not stabilize. It ships without iron sights, so plan on an optic and a way to mount it: a red dot or holographic sits on a rail, a scope needs rings and a base, and a rifle with neither needs a mount first.

The .223 REM is commonly chosen for varmints, predators and target work. Cheap, widely available and light on recoil, which makes it an easy cartridge to shoot well.

The all-new redesigned AXIS 2 XP offers hunters even better out-of-the-box performance at the same affordable price. In addition to a new look with improved ergonomics, the AXIS 2 XP is loaded with features that deliver tack-driving accuracy on every shot, including the user-adjustable AccuTrigger, and thread-in headspacing. The updated bolt handle with a sleek, ergonomic design delivers on functionality. This bolt handle will help to enhance user control and comfort during operation, especially in adverse conditions like rain or cold weather. Factory mounted and boresighted 3-9×40 scope with fully multi-coated lenses and tool-less windage & elevation adjustments.
