Description
The Savage B22 is a bolt action rifle in .22 WMR with a 16.25" barrel, a 1:16 twist and 10-round capacity.
Rimfire velocity peaks in the high teens of barrel length, so a barrel this short gives up very little and keeps the rifle light and quick to handle. Twist rate determines which bullet weights stabilize: a faster twist favors heavier, longer projectiles. It ships without iron sights, so plan on an optic and a way to mount it: a red dot or holographic sits on a rail, a scope needs rings and a base, and a rifle with neither needs a mount first.
The .22 WMR is commonly chosen for small game and varmints. It bridges the gap between .22 LR and a centerfire varmint round.
