Savage Arms 18528 25 Lightweight Varminter-T 223 Rem 4+1 Cap 24″ Matte Black Rec/Barrel Natural Brown Laminate Fixed Thumbhole Stock Right Hand (Full Size) with Detachable Box Magazine

Description

The Savage Arms 25 Lightweight Varminter-t is a bolt action rifle in .223 REM/5.56 NATO with a 24" barrel, a 1:9 twist and 4-round capacity plus one chambered.

A long barrel gives the cartridge room to build velocity, at the cost of handling in tight spaces and some added weight. That is slower than the usual twist for this cartridge, so it favors lighter bullets; very heavy projectiles may not stabilize. It ships without iron sights, so plan on an optic and a way to mount it: a red dot or holographic sits on a rail, a scope needs rings and a base, and a rifle with neither needs a mount first.

The .223 REM is commonly chosen for varmints, predators and target work. Cheap, widely available and light on recoil, which makes it an easy cartridge to shoot well.

Savage's 25 Lightweight Varminter-T gives a versatile combination of agility and accuracy. This rifle features a 24" medium-contour, carbon steel barrel satin blue barrel that's sleeved for added rigidity. It comes equipped with Weaver-style scope bases and triple pillar bedding. The revolutionary AccuTrigger, adjustable from 2.5 -3.25 lbs, is standard on the Savage Model 25 as well as a 4-round, detachable box magazine.
