Savage Arms 32504 110 Ridge Hunter 450 Bushmaster 5+1 18″ Heavy Barrel, Flat Dark Gray Adj LOP Synthetic Stock, Right Hand

Description

The Savage Arms 110 Ridge Hunter is a bolt action rifle in .450 Bushmaster with an 18" barrel, a 1:24 twist and 5-round capacity plus one chambered.

This barrel length is the usual compromise: enough to develop most of the cartridge's velocity while still being manageable to carry all day, and short enough that a suppressor on the end does not make it unwieldy. Twist rate determines which bullet weights stabilize: a faster twist favors heavier, longer projectiles.

The .450 Bushmaster is commonly chosen for deer hunting in straight-wall cartridge states. These exist to satisfy regulations that prohibit bottleneck rifle cartridges for deer.
