Savage Arms 32071 Axis 2 223 Rem 4+1 22″ Matte Black Sporter Barrel, Matte Black Drilled & Tapped Steel Receiver, Fixed Green Synthetic Stock, Left Hand

Description

The Savage Arms Axis 2 223 is a bolt action in .223 REM/5.56 NATO with a 22" barrel, a 1:9 twist and 4-round capacity plus one chambered.

This barrel length is a common compromise: enough to develop most of the cartridge's velocity while staying manageable to carry. That is slower than the usual twist for this cartridge, so it favors lighter bullets; very heavy projectiles may not stabilize.

The .223 REM is commonly chosen for varmints, predators and target work. Cheap, widely available and light on recoil, which makes it an easy cartridge to shoot well.

This is a serialized firearm. It ships to a licensed dealer near you rather than to your door, and you complete the transfer there with a Form 4473 and a background check. State and local rules govern what can be shipped where, so check yours before ordering – and if you are unsure, ask us first.
