Savage Arms 32547 110 Core Hunter 300 Win Mag 3+1 22″ Fluted Barrel, Flat Dark Gray AccuStock w/AccuFit V2 Synthetic Stock, Right Hand

Description

The Savage 110 is a bolt action rifle in .300 Winchester Magnum with a 22" barrel, a 1:10 twist and 3-round capacity plus one chambered.

This barrel length is the usual compromise: enough to develop most of the cartridge's velocity while still being manageable to carry all day, and short enough that a suppressor on the end does not make it unwieldy. That is the standard twist for this cartridge, and it stabilizes the bullet weights most factory ammunition is loaded with. It ships without iron sights, so plan on an optic and a way to mount it: a red dot or holographic sits on a rail, a scope needs rings and a base, and a rifle with neither needs a mount first.

The .300 Winchester Magnum is commonly chosen for elk, large game and long-range work. Significant energy at distance, and significant recoil with it.
