Description

The Springfield Armory Operator is a semi-auto in .45 ACP with a 5.75" barrel, a 1:16 twist and 8-round capacity.

A carbine-length barrel keeps the pistol maneuverable, trading some velocity for handling. It comes with a tritium front sight and a white dot rear sight. The slide is cut for a red dot, so an optic mounts without machining. The optic and, on most models, a mounting plate are bought separately, and the plate has to match the footprint your optic uses.

The .45 ACP is commonly chosen for range use, competition and carry. A large, slow bullet with mild muzzle blast; magazines hold fewer rounds than a comparable 9mm.
