The Springfield Armory XD is a pistol slide.

The slide houses the barrel, the striker or firing pin and the extractor, and it is what reciprocates when the pistol fires.

Slides are cut for a specific frame and generation, and an optic-ready slide is cut for a specific footprint – RMR, DeltaPoint, K-series and others are different patterns. Check both against what you own.

A slide is not the serialized part of a pistol, which is why it can ship to you. Fitting one is still a job to do carefully, and the pistol needs a function check before it is fired.
