Description

The Spyderco Ambitious folding knife features a 2.25" 8Cr13MoV stainless blade, plain edge, G-10 handle.

The blade is 8Cr13MoV SS, a budget-friendly Chinese stainless that sharpens easily and resists rust well, though it needs touching up more often than premium steels. A plain edge makes clean push cuts and slices, and it is the easier edge to resharpen in the field. G-10 is a fiberglass laminate: light, dimensionally stable, and grippy even wet.

At under two and a half inches this is a compact everyday carry knife: light in the pocket, unobtrusive, and legal to carry in more places than a larger blade.

Carry laws are set locally as well as by state, and a 2.25" blade is legal to carry in many places and not in others – check your state and city rules before you carry it. Knives ship directly to you with no FFL transfer and no background check, unlike a firearm. Keep the blade dry and the pivot clean, and touch the edge up on a strop or fine stone before it gets properly dull – it is far less work than bringing back a blunt edge.
