Description
The Spyderco Byrd Harrier 2 Lightweight features a 3.36" 3Cr13MoV stainless blade, clip point, serrated edge, textured FRN handle, black finish.
A serrated edge bites into rope, webbing and fibrous material far better than a plain edge, and stays aggressive long after a plain edge has dulled. FRN keeps the weight and the price down while staying tough and textured in hand.
A blade in this range handles heavier everyday tasks and light outdoor work while still carrying comfortably clipped in a pocket.
Carry laws are set locally as well as by state, and a 3.36" blade is legal to carry in many places and not in others – check your state and city rules before you carry it. Knives ship directly to you with no FFL transfer and no background check, unlike a firearm.
Tracing its history back to the very first Byrd model, the Harrier 2 is a practical everyday-carry cutting tool in the perfect in-between size. Now this utilitarian design is available in a lightweight version featuring injection-molded fiberglass-reinforced-nylon (FRN) handles with a non-slip texture. Its 8Cr13MoV stainless steel blade is full-flat ground for optimal edge geometry and has a textured index-finger choil and thumb ramp. The handles nested, skeletonized stainless steel liners provide structural strength for the knifes sturdy back lock mechanism and anchor a four-position clip that offers all possible carry options. Best of all, it is over 20% lighter than its G-10-handled counterpart.
