Description
The Spyderco Delica 4 Lightweight folder features a 2.88" VG-10 stainless blade, clip point, serrated edge, textured FRN handle, black finish.
The blade is VG-10 SS, a Japanese high-carbon stainless that takes a very fine edge, holds it well, and resists corrosion – a long-standing favourite for folding knives. A serrated edge bites into rope, webbing and fibrous material far better than a plain edge, and stays aggressive long after a plain edge has dulled. FRN keeps the weight and the price down while staying tough and textured in hand.
Around three inches is the everyday carry sweet spot – long enough for boxes, cord, food prep and general utility, short enough to disappear in a pocket.
Carry laws are set locally as well as by state, and a 2.88" blade is legal to carry in many places and not in others – check your state and city rules before you carry it. Knives ship directly to you with no FFL transfer and no background check, unlike a firearm. Keep the blade dry and the pivot clean, and touch the edge up on a strop or fine stone before it gets properly dull – it is far less work than bringing back a blunt edge.
This version of the Delica 4 Lightweighthas a non-reflective VG-10 blade coated with black titanium carbonitride and is flat saber-ground with a strong tip. The blade's spine has slip-resistant jimping and large 13mm hole to aid in opening. Phosphor bronze washers smooth out the open/close action and the clip is upgraded to a four-way for tip-up, tip-down, left- or right-handed carry. The fiberglass-reinforced nylon handles come molded with bi-directional texturing for preferred traction and improved ergonomics. Inside the handle, dual skeletonized stainless steel liners anchor components and increase strength without adding weight.
