The Spyderco Salt 2 folder features a 3" H1 Steel blade, clip point, serrated edge, FRN handle.

The blade is H1 Steel, a nitrogen-based steel that is effectively rustproof, which makes it the standard choice for saltwater and dive use. A serrated edge bites into rope, webbing and fibrous material far better than a plain edge, and stays aggressive long after a plain edge has dulled. FRN keeps the weight and the price down while staying tough and textured in hand.

Around three inches is the everyday carry sweet spot – long enough for boxes, cord, food prep and general utility, short enough to disappear in a pocket.

Carry laws are set locally as well as by state, and a 3.0" blade is legal to carry in many places and not in others – check your state and city rules before you carry it. Knives ship directly to you with no FFL transfer and no background check, unlike a firearm. This steel is effectively rustproof, so it needs little more than rinsing and drying.

It is supported by a high-strength back lock mechanism housed in an injection-molded FRN handle. The bright yellow linerless handle has Bi-Directional Texturing for a secure grip in and out of the water and four sets of threaded inserts to anchor a versatile, four-position titanium pocket clip.
