The blade is CPM S30V SS, an American powder-metallurgy stainless that offers excellent edge retention and toughness, at the cost of more effort to resharpen. G-10 is a fiberglass laminate: light, dimensionally stable, and grippy even wet.
A blade in this range handles heavier everyday tasks and light outdoor work while still carrying comfortably clipped in a pocket.
Carry laws are set locally as well as by state, and a 3.44" blade is legal to carry in many places and not in others – check your state and city rules before you carry it. Keep the blade dry and the pivot clean, and touch the edge up on a strop or fine stone before it gets properly dull – it is far less work than bringing back a blunt edge.
