The STRMLGHT TLR-8X is a 500-lumen weapon light with a universal rail mount.
This is a practical everyday output – bright enough to identify a threat or search a room without blinding you off nearby walls indoors. Peak intensity is quoted at 0 candela, which is the figure that actually determines how far the beam throws – lumens tell you total output, candela tell you reach.
CR123A cells hold their charge for years on a shelf, which is why they remain the default for a light that sits unused until it is needed. Confirm it fits your rail and that you can reach the switch with your normal firing grip before committing to it – a light you cannot activate under stress is worse than no light. Lights ship directly to you with no FFL transfer.
The TLR-8 X features multi-fuel battery capability powered by either (1) CR123A or (1) StreamlightSL-B9 lithium-ion rechargeable battery pack, both delivering 500 lumens and 5,000 candela. The integrated rail clamp is designed to rapidly attach/detach from the side of the weapon without having to put your hands in front of the muzzle.
