The Taylors and Company Taylor'S & Company 1866 is a lever action in .38 Special with a 19" barrel, a 1:18.75 twist and 10-round capacity plus one chambered.
This barrel length is a common compromise: enough to develop most of the cartridge's velocity while staying manageable to carry. Twist rate determines which bullet weights stabilize: a faster twist favors heavier, longer projectiles. It comes with dovetail rear | blade front sights.
The .38 Special is commonly chosen for revolver practice and carry. Mild recoil and long-established, which is why it remains a common first revolver cartridge.
