Description
Wilson Combat 6.8mm Remington SPC ammunition, 110 grain hollow point, 20 rounds per box.
Hollow point – the nose is cavitied so the bullet expands on impact, which increases its diameter and reduces the chance of over-penetration. This is the construction generally chosen for defensive use.
The base is a boat tail – tapered rather than flat. That reduces drag behind the bullet, so it holds velocity better over distance than a flat-based bullet of the same weight.
Bullet weight is given in grains; there are 7,000 to the pound, so this one weighs 110 grains. Within a calibre a heavier bullet generally leaves the muzzle slower and carries its velocity further, while a lighter one starts faster and sheds speed sooner.
Cost per round: $1.75.
