Description
The Winchester Model 70 is a bolt action rifle in 6.5 PRC with a 24" barrel, a 1:8 twist and 3-round capacity plus one chambered.
A long barrel gives the cartridge room to build velocity, at the cost of handling in tight spaces and some added weight. That is the standard twist for this cartridge, and it stabilizes the bullet weights most factory ammunition is loaded with. It comes drilled & tapped, so it is ready to take an optic without extra machining.
The 6.5 PRC is commonly chosen for long-range hunting and precision shooting. It pushes 6.5mm bullets faster than Creedmoor, trading barrel life and recoil for reach.
