Description
The Winchester Xpert 22 is a bolt action rifle in .17 WSM with an 18" barrel, a 1:9 twist and 8-round capacity.
Rimfire velocity peaks in the high teens of barrel length, so a barrel this short gives up very little and keeps the rifle light and quick to handle. That is the standard twist for this cartridge, and it stabilizes the bullet weights most factory ammunition is loaded with. It comes with a ramped post/ front sight and a adj. leaf rear sight.
A bolt action locks the cartridge up rigidly and repeatably, which is what makes it the accurate choice for hunting and target work – there is no gas system or reciprocating carrier moving while the shot breaks.
