Description
The Winchester Xpert Shadow Sr is a bolt action in .17 WSM with an 18" barrel, a 1:9 twist and 8-round capacity plus one chambered.
Rimfire velocity peaks in the high teens of barrel length, so a barrel this short gives up very little and keeps the rifle light and quick to handle. That is the standard twist for this cartridge, and it stabilizes the bullet weights most factory ammunition is loaded with. It comes with ramped post front/adj rear sights.
Bolt actions are commonly chosen for hunting and target shooting, where the simpler mechanism and rigid lockup are valued.
