Description
The Spyderco Police folding knife features a 4.13" VG-10 stainless blade, clip point, plain edge, stainless handle, satin finish.
The blade is VG-10 SS, a Japanese high-carbon stainless that takes a very fine edge, holds it well, and resists corrosion – a long-standing favourite for folding knives. Stainless scales are durable and easy to clean, though heavier than polymer.
This is a larger folder aimed at outdoor and work use, where reach and cutting power matter more than minimising pocket bulk.
Carry laws are set locally as well as by state, and a 4.13" blade is legal to carry in many places and not in others – check your state and city rules before you carry it. Knives ship directly to you with no FFL transfer and no background check, unlike a firearm. Keep the blade dry and the pivot clean, and touch the edge up on a strop or fine stone before it gets properly dull – it is far less work than bringing back a blunt edge.
Spyderco's Police Model was developed in the early 1980s in response to requests from law enforcement officers who wanted a slim, easy-to-carry folder capable of serious cutting performance. The result was the Police Modelone of the most enduring and iconic folding knives ever produced. This handle construction provides substantial heft and a solid foundation for the knifes sturdy back lock mechanism, which features a Boye Dent to prevent unintentional lock release during use. Its blade is hollow ground from VG-10 stainless steel blade has a dramatic swedge (unsharpened bevel) for acute point geometry. The blade includes our trademark Round Hole for swift, reliable, one-handed opening. A four-position hourglass clip completes the package, supporting tip-up or tip-down carry on both sides of the body and making the carry, deployment, and operation of this knife completely ambidextrous.
