The Spyderco Police folder features a 4.13" VG-10 stainless blade, serrated edge, stainless handle.
The blade is VG-10 SS, a Japanese high-carbon stainless that takes a very fine edge, holds it well, and resists corrosion – a long-standing favourite for folding knives. A serrated edge bites into rope, webbing and fibrous material far better than a plain edge, and stays aggressive long after a plain edge has dulled.
This is a larger folder aimed at outdoor and work use, where reach and cutting power matter more than minimising pocket bulk.
Carry laws are set locally as well as by state, and a 4.13" blade is legal to carry in many places and not in others – check your state and city rules before you carry it. Knives ship directly to you with no FFL transfer and no background check, unlike a firearm. Keep the blade dry and the pivot clean, and touch the edge up on a strop or fine stone before it gets properly dull – it is far less work than bringing back a blunt edge.
