The Barrett Firearms MRAD is a bolt action in .416 Barrett with a 36" barrel, a 1:12 twist and 5-round capacity.

A long barrel gives the cartridge room to build velocity, at the cost of handling in tight spaces and some added weight. That is slower than the usual twist for this cartridge, so it favors lighter bullets; very heavy projectiles may not stabilize. It ships without iron sights, so budget for an optic, rings and a base if you do not already have them.

The .416 Barrett is commonly chosen for large and dangerous game.
