The Bergara B-14 Series is a bolt action in .22 Creedmoor with a 20" barrel, a 1:8 twist and 5-round capacity.
This barrel length is a common compromise: enough to develop most of the cartridge's velocity while staying manageable to carry. Twist rate determines which bullet weights stabilize: a faster twist favors heavier, longer projectiles.
Bolt actions are commonly chosen for hunting and target shooting, where the simpler mechanism and rigid lockup are valued.
