The Savage Arms 110 Ultralite Car is a bolt action in .300 Winchester Short Magnum (WSM) with a 24" barrel, a 1:10 twist and 2-round capacity plus one chambered.
A long barrel gives the cartridge room to build velocity, at the cost of handling in tight spaces and some added weight. That is the standard twist for this cartridge, and it stabilizes the bullet weights most factory ammunition is loaded with. It ships without iron sights, so budget for an optic, rings and a base if you do not already have them.
The .300 Winchester Short Magnum (WSM) is commonly chosen for elk, large game and long-range work. Significant energy at distance, and significant recoil with it.
