Description
The Spyderco Byrd Harrier 2 features a 3.39" 8Cr13MoV stainless blade, clip point, plain edge, textured G-10 handle, black finish.
The blade is 8Cr13MoV SS, a budget-friendly Chinese stainless that sharpens easily and resists rust well, though it needs touching up more often than premium steels. G-10 is a fiberglass laminate: light, dimensionally stable, and grippy even wet.
A blade in this range handles heavier everyday tasks and light outdoor work while still carrying comfortably clipped in a pocket.
Carry laws are set locally as well as by state, and a 3.39" blade is legal to carry in many places and not in others – check your state and city rules before you carry it. Knives ship directly to you with no FFL transfer and no background check, unlike a firearm. Keep the blade dry and the pivot clean, and touch the edge up on a strop or fine stone before it gets properly dull – it is far less work than bringing back a blunt edge.
The Syderco Byrd Harrier 2 resurrects and refines the classic design of the Harrier to offer a practical everyday carry cutting tool. Its 8Cr13MoV stainless steel blade is full-flat ground for optimal edge geometry and has a textured index-finger choil. The handle features textured G-10 scales, minimalist nested stainless steel liners, a stainless steel back spacer, sturdy back lock mechanism and a four-position clip that offers all possible carry options.
