Description
The Spyderco Harrier 2 features a 3.39" 8Cr13MoV stainless blade, clip point, serrated edge, textured G-10 handle, black finish.
The blade is 8Cr13MoV SS, a budget-friendly Chinese stainless that sharpens easily and resists rust well, though it needs touching up more often than premium steels. A serrated edge bites into rope, webbing and fibrous material far better than a plain edge, and stays aggressive long after a plain edge has dulled. G-10 is a fiberglass laminate: light, dimensionally stable, and grippy even wet.
A blade in this range handles heavier everyday tasks and light outdoor work while still carrying comfortably clipped in a pocket.
Carry laws are set locally as well as by state, and a 3.39" blade is legal to carry in many places and not in others – check your state and city rules before you carry it. Knives ship directly to you with no FFL transfer and no background check, unlike a firearm. Keep the blade dry and the pivot clean, and touch the edge up on a strop or fine stone before it gets properly dull – it is far less work than bringing back a blunt edge.
The Harrier 2 resurrects and refines this classic design to offer a practical everyday-carry cutting tool in a size that splits the difference between the best-selling Cara Cara 2 and the Meadowlark 2. Its 8Cr13MoV stainless steel blade is full-flat ground for optimal edge geometry, has a textured index-finger choil and is available in both plain and partially serrated formats. The handle features textured G-10 scales, minimalist nested stainless steel liners, a stainless steel backspacer, a sturdy back lock mechanism, and a four-position clip that offers all possible carry options.
