The Spyderco Street Beat Lw fixed blade knife features a 3.51" VG-10 stainless blade, black finish.
The blade is VG-10 SS, a Japanese high-carbon stainless that takes a very fine edge, holds it well, and resists corrosion – a long-standing favourite for folding knives.
A fixed blade of this size suits hunting, camp and outdoor work where strength matters more than pocketability – there is no pivot to fail and it cleans easily.
Carry laws are set locally as well as by state, and a 3.51" blade is legal to carry in many places and not in others – check your state and city rules before you carry it. Knives ship directly to you with no FFL transfer and no background check, unlike a firearm. Keep the blade dry and the pivot clean, and touch the edge up on a strop or fine stone before it gets properly dull – it is far less work than bringing back a blunt edge.
Designed by French custom knifemaker and close-combat expert Fred Perrin, the Street Beat Lightweight is a highly evolved version of his original Street Beat. Its injection-molded fiberglass reinforced-nylon (FRN) handle includes Perrin's distinctive index finger groove that locks the user's hand to the handle when gripped firmly. The Bowie-style blade is full flat-ground from VG-10 stainless steel and has a non-reflective black ceramic coating.
