Description
The Trijicon Tenmile 30MM MRAD SFP is a 5-25x riflescope with a 50mm objective on a 30mm tube. The reticle is in the second focal plane.
A 25x top end is intended for precision at distance. High magnification narrows the field of view, shows mirage more readily and makes the picture more sensitive to how steady the rifle is held.
Second focal plane: the reticle stays the same visual size at every magnification, which keeps it easy to see at low power. Its subtensions are only correct at one magnification, usually the maximum, so holds taken at another power have to be adjusted.
A 30mm tube generally allows more internal elevation adjustment than a 1 inch tube, which matters when dialling for distance. Rings or a mount must be 30mm – ring diameter is not adjustable and a different size will not clamp.
The 50mm objective sets how much light the scope can gather and how tall the rings need to be to clear the bell.
Eye relief is listed at 2.90"-3.90" – the distance the eye sits behind the ocular to see the full picture, which is what has to be respected when positioning the scope in the rings.
